Scholarship Opportunities
Every child deserves a great education—and we’re here to help make it affordable. If you live in North Carolina, your family may qualify for financial assistance through the Opportunity Scholarship Program or the Education Student Accounts (ESA+) Program. In many cases, these scholarships can cover the full cost of tuition at Coast to Mountains Preparatory Academy (CM Prep).
The 2026–2027 new student application opens on February 2, 2026. The State Education Assistance Authority (SEAA) will award full-year funding on a monthly basis, in the order applications are received, as long as program funds remain available.

Opportunity Scholarship Program
The Opportunity Scholarship is an income-based award covering partial or full tuition at CM Prep and other non-public schools. Eligible families must meet household income requirements, and award decisions are subject to the available funds.
Education Student Accounts (ESA+) Program
The ESA+ Scholarship is for students who have a documented disability. Awards can be used to cover tuition at a non-public school and other educational expenses.
Students must be eligible for special education services, as documented by a North Carolina public school IEP eligibility determination. These can include but are not limited to: autism, hearing impairment, visual impairment, orthopedic impairment, and intellectual or developmental disability.
Apply for Financial Aid Today
While you complete your application for CM Prep, you can apply for one or both scholarships listed above through the State Education Assistance Authority. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and the enrollment agents at CM Prep are available to help you through the process.

1. Review requirements and check eligibility
Students must meet specific eligibility requirements to qualify for the Opportunity and ESA+ Scholarships. Families can review scholarship program requirements and check their eligibility for both options on the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority website. Our enrollment agents can also help you determine your eligibility as they help you enroll at CM Prep.
Please note that, if your family meets the eligibility requirements for both scholarships, you can apply for both opportunities.
2. Set up a MyPortal account
Create a MyPortal account with the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority.
3. Apply through MyPortal
Log in to your MyPortal account to submit an application for either or both scholarship opportunities. You will receive confirmation of any scholarship awards directly from the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority and directions on applying those scholarship funds to CM Prep.
