I am proud to be the Head of School for Geo Focus Academy and Coast to Mountains Preparatory Academy. My teaching and administrative experience spans over 25 years in K-12 and at the community college level. I have a bachelor’s degree in social science education and a master’s in educational administration from Indiana State University. As a former first-generation, low-income student, I understand the importance of education.  My goal is to provide educational opportunities that will prepare students for college and career success while building an environment that values positive relationships with students and families.

I am the Deputy Head of School, and I’ve spent the past 12 years dedicated to education in a variety of roles. My background includes extensive experience in teaching, educational leadership, and school operations.  I am passionate about leading school teams—supporting teachers, mentoring staff, and fostering a collaborative environment where everyone can thrive. I love working closely with students and staff alike, and I find it incredibly rewarding to help create a school culture where growth, consistency, and belonging are at the center. Watching students gain confidence and seeing educators feel supported in their work is one of the best parts of what I do.

I am a certified school counselor with a strong background in social-emotional learning, supported by a degree in psychology and a master’s degree in school counseling. I have experience teaching at both the elementary and middle school levels. My work centers on helping students navigate their feelings and emotions while building self-awareness. I’m passionate about equipping students with the skills they need to communicate and interact with others in positive, healthy ways. My hope is that every student can reach their highest potential socially, emotionally, and academically.

I am a school counselor with six years of experience supporting students’ academic and personal growth. Before counseling, I taught 2nd and 3rd grade as well as middle school special education. My husband and I moved from Indiana to Alabama, where we live with our 3 kids and 2 dogs. I’m passionate about helping students work through challenges and guiding them as they prepare for their future success!

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!) and have been proudly teaching young learners for over 20 years. Throughout my career, I’ve been dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging classroom setting where every child feels valued and capable. I was awarded the Outstanding First Year Teacher award at my previous district and was the Folger’s Perfect Measure recipient as well. What I love most about teaching is witnessing those unforgettable “lightbulb moments” when students discover their confidence and realize they can achieve more than they ever imagined.

I’m an experienced educator with a background in both virtual and in-person teaching, and I’m passionate about helping students grow academically and personally. With almost 15 years of teaching experience, I’m proud to be certified in Elementary Education (K–6) and endorsed in both Reading and ESOL. These qualifications help me meet students exactly where they are and provide the personalized support they need to grow and succeed. I have taught a variety of grade-levels and work hard to create an engaging virtual environment where students love to learn.

I’m a diverse educator, who brings warmth, creativity, and joy into every learning space. I have taught in a variety of settings, including brick and mortar, online, daycare, home-bound teacher, and homeschool instructor for a private family. I love creating engaging and encouraging environments, where students feel safe and cultivate a love for learning.

I am an experienced virtual elementary educator and school leader with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, dual Master’s degrees in Online Education and Business Administration, and in-progress Principal Certification. I am also certified in the Science of Reading and Orton-Gillingham. I am passionate about inspiring a love of learning, personalizing instruction, and building strong connections with students and families. As a school leader, I strive to support and motivate staff in achieving their personal and professional goals.

I’m Blair Wright, and I’m excited to bring more than 12 years of teaching experience to my new third-grade classroom. I’ve taught in Baltimore City Public Schools, Fairfax County Public Schools, and most recently with Friendship Public Charter School Online, where I served as both a third-grade teacher and a middle school social studies teacher. I’m passionate about creating engaging, inclusive learning environments that use data-driven instruction to help every student grow. Building strong relationships with students and families is at the heart of my teaching, and I’m committed to helping each child feel confident, supported, and excited to learn.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in secondary education and a Master of Education in curriculum development. For more than 25 years, I’ve taught a wide range of middle school math courses, including Algebra I, and I bring that experience into every online lesson. I focus on engaging students in the virtual classroom while helping them build an understanding of math concepts and develop confidence in their problem-solving skills.

I have been a part of the educational system since 2004. I have a bachelor’s degree in history from Clearwater Christian College and have received my secondary education licensure from multiple universities. Although I have taught many subjects and ages, my passion has always been a love of learning. I am excited to continue to cultivate lifelong learners with my students. When I am not in the classroom, my time is spent with my two boys and my husband. I love reading mystery books and traveling. I love to experience new places, foods, and cultures. By sharing my previous travels with my students, I hope to create a curiosity that will encourage them to see and experience new places, people, and cultures in the world for themselves.

I am an enthusiastic online educator with four years of experience teaching in the classroom and tutoring students of diverse backgrounds. I hold undergraduate and graduate degrees in education and am currently completing a master’s in social studies curriculum and instruction. I am passionate about creating engaging, supportive learning environments where students feel confident and motivated. I’m excited to support learners as they grow and succeed in their academic goals.

I am a highly experienced high school mathematics educator with 29 years of teaching experience and a strong technical background in virtual instruction. I hold a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and am certified to teach grades 6–12 mathematics. I am passionate about making math accessible through clear, scaffolded instruction and hold myself accountable for student growth in synchronous and asynchronous learning environments while working collaboratively to support students and families.

I am an experienced science educator with an extensive background teaching virtually and in person. I earned my bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Centre College, my master’s in teaching from the University of Louisville (Go Cards!), and my gifted-and-talented endorsement from Western Kentucky University. I am certified in middle-grades science in multiple states and specialize in assisting gifted and talented students and their unique needs. As much as I love teaching (as demonstrated in an episode of Can You Teach Us?), my greatest blessing is my family.

I am an experienced and dedicated educator who believes reading and writing are essential to communicating ideas and understanding the world. Guided by the values of respect, integrity, and caring, I strive to create a supportive and engaging classroom where students feel challenged and valued. I am certified in English Language Arts and bring experience teaching students from middle school through the university level. Throughout my career, my goal has always been to help students grow as confident readers, writers, and thinkers who can clearly express their ideas.

I have been a teacher for more than 20 years in brick-and-mortar and online settings. I have an undergraduate degree in international relations and a master’s degree in counseling and educational leadership. For most of my educational career, I have been an English Language Arts and special education teacher, though I have held various leadership positions. My true passion is teaching young people to read, write, and think, as these are essential life skills. I bring a combination of proven pedagogical skills and work experience to the classroom that facilitates learning for all students. My certifications include English Language Arts, reading, special education, English speakers of other languages, social studies, and educational leadership.

I am an accomplished educator and dedicated learning coach. I hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Georgia State University and a secondary education biology degree from Western Governors University. In my 12 years of professional teaching, I have worked in traditional and virtual classrooms, including five years with K12-powered online schools. The foundation of my teaching is the belief that every student is a scientist at heart. My greatest professional joy is creating warm, inclusive environments where learners feel welcomed, inspired, and equipped to discover the relevance of science in their everyday lives.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Middle Level Education with a 7–12 Mathematics Certification in 2010, earned a Master of Education as an Instructional Facilitator (LEAD Teacher) in 2023, and am on track to complete my Doctorate in Education with a focus on Rural and Diverse Leadership in 2028. With more than a decade of experience teaching mathematics, I have worked in a wide range of educational settings—including homeschool co-ops, community colleges, private elementary and middle schools, public charter high schools, and traditional public high schools. I believe the most valuable skills a student can develop are persistence and creative problem-solving. I am certified to teach all math courses from 4th through 12th grade, and I am passionate about helping students build confidence, think critically, and plan for their future success.

I am an experienced English teacher with a strong background in literary analysis. I hold degrees in English Literature and Secondary Education. I have taught a wide variety of courses in grades seven through twelve in three different states- Utah, Nebraska, and Wyoming. My work focuses on helping students learn to express themselves through writing, engage more deeply with texts, and become critical thinkers who are capable of engaging with the world.

I am an experienced online social studies educator with a strong background in United States history, World History, Government, and Economics . I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Indiana University.  I began my teacher career in Atlanta, GA where I taught AP World History for three years before I joined CMPA.  My work focuses on helping students think critically, making connections with the past, and have a better understand of the world in which we all live.

I am a 31 year veteran math teacher. I have taught in both public and private schools, in very diverse situations in multiple states across the nation. Teaching virtually has allowed me to teach both internationally and nationally. I have taught every secondary math course from Math 6 through AP Calculus, which makes me very diverse in my ability to identify gaps in students’ foundations for a course. I don’t teach math because I love it. I teach math because I’m very good at it. I understand why it works. I asked a lot of questions and got a lot of answers and I’m able to explain the material to students in ways that make sense to them. I think the most powerful part of studying math is learning to be a problem solver. Everyone is faced with problems in this world and the more strategies we develop to solve them, the more effective we can be in this world.

I am a passionate Science Teacher and Lead High School Teacher with 12 years of experience serving students in both urban and rural educational settings. I am licensed in grades 6–12 Science and have taught a wide range of courses, including Biology, Biomedical Science, Earth and Space Sciences, Physical Science, Physics, and Chemistry. I earned my undergraduate degree in Applied Sciences from Colorado Christian University, where I also completed my graduate studies and teacher preparation. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have served in multiple leadership roles, including Department Head, School MTSS Coordinator, New Teacher Facilitator, Student Council Advisor, and Instructional Coach. These roles, along with the students and families they served, have been instrumental in shaping my purpose as an educator. My goal is to build meaningful relationships with our students where they feel supported, challenged, and empowered to face academic or life challenges with resilience and confidence.

I am an experienced online social studies educator with a strong background in United States history. I hold degrees in Business Communications, Communications, and a Master’s of Education with a concentration in History, and I am currently completing a Master of Communication. I am certified in all social studies areas and have taught a wide range of courses, including AP US History and United States History. My work focuses on helping students think critically, understand key historical themes, and engage with the stories and events that have shaped the nation.

My name is Ms. Alexander and I am a special education teacher here at Coast to Mountains. I graduated from Grand Canyon University (Phoenix, AZ) in 2024 with my bachelors in Elementary and Special Education. I am passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and celebrating every small victory along the way. I believe in meeting students where they are at and helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally at there own pace.

I am a special education with 12 years of experience, 7 of those were working in self-contained emotional disabilities. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education. I enjoy teaching  because I like that I get to be a part of a child’s development and I get to see them grow both educationally and emotionally!

I am honored to serve as the special education teacher for grades 8–12 and as our Special Programs Coordinator. I bring five years of experience supporting diverse learners of all ages in a virtual setting. I hold a degree in Special Education and am licensed as an Elementary Generalist (K–6) and in Special Education Mild Intervention (P–12), and I am currently earning an MBA in School Administration. I am passionate about motivating students and guiding them to develop the skills and confidence they need to face life’s inevitable challenges, while also helping them find meaning in their learning and in life. I strive to serve students and families with integrity and servant leadership and am committed to supporting all learners in reaching their full potential.

I began my career as an advisor at Insight School of Ohio and later advanced into related services coordinator and operations manager roles. In 2018, I moved to Indiana Digital Learning School as a student support administrator, and in 2021, I became the central region program manager, supporting student support administrators across the region.

I am passionate about helping students succeed and supporting teachers so they have the tools they need to best serve their students.

I have over 30 years of elementary education experience. I have taught K-6 at some point in my career and served as an interventionist for students in grades 3-5 focusing on reading and math support services. In my role at Coast to Mountains Prep, I serve as the Community Engagement Coordinator planning in-person events for students and families to come together. I also provide in-person tutoring services for interested families. My certifications are held in Elementary Education Grades K-6 and Reading Instruction Grades K-12.
